Representatives from the Israel office of the renowned Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, a prominent political foundation active in Germany and abroad, recently visited Bar-Ilan University. The delegation, led by Dr. Thomas Volk, Director of the Foundation, and accompanied by Naomi Mittelman Cohen, the Project Manager, embarked on this visit to explore potential collaborations and strengthen ties between the two institutions.
Engaging with the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA)
As part of their itinerary, the delegation had the privilege of visiting the prestigious Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA) at Bar-Ilan University. They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Eitan Shamir, the Director of BESA, Dr. Elai Rettig, and CDR. David A. Levy from BESA, as well as Rakefet Sholder from BIU‘s Global Resource Development Department. This visit provided an excellent opportunity for in-depth discussions on strategic and political affairs, fostering an exchange of ideas and perspectives.
Exploring Bar-Ilan University’s Campus
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the university’s vibrant academic environment, the delegation embarked on a comprehensive campus tour. Led by knowledgeable guides, they had the chance to explore the various faculties, research centers, and state-of-the-art facilities that contribute to BIU‘s reputation for excellence.
Visit to the Faculty of Education
Highlighting the importance of education and diversity, the delegation visited the Faculty of Education. They were warmly received by Prof. Zehavit Gross, the Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Pascale Benoliel, the Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Faculty. This visit provided an opportunity to exchange insights and ideas on promoting inclusive education and fostering diversity within academic settings.
