IDF’s Keren Hajioff is top candidate for Bennett’s English spokesperson

IDF Northern Command spokeswoman, Maj. Keren Hajioff, is the leading candidate to become Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s spokeswoman for foreign media. A New Way to Treat PTSD?

Exposure to a traumatic experience can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), an incapacitating disorder in susceptible persons with no reliable therapy. A team of scientists from Israel’s Bar-Ilan University, led by Prof. Gal Yadid, of the Mina and Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences and Gonda (Goldschmied) Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center, examined the question of PTSD in humans using an animal PTSD model. Researcher urges NLP research focus on signed languages

Advancements in natural language processing (NLP) enable computers to understand what humans say and help people communicate through tools like machine translation, voice-controlled assistants and chatbots. But NLP research often only focuses on spoken languages. Kayo Yin, a Master’s student in the Language Technologies Institute, co-authored a paper on the subject with BIU researchers, Amit Moryossef and Yoav Goldberg as well as others from around the world.
