Bar-Ilan University is highly committed to expanding its research and innovation activities and has, in recent years, adopted the “impact-driven” approach in academic research where multidisciplinary teams of Bar-Ilan University researchers work together to address pressing challenges facing Israel and the world.
Through the establishment of new multidisciplinary “Impact Centers”, Bar-Ilan is revitalizing and modernizing academic instruction and expanding advanced study programs.
Bar-Ilan’s Impact Centers focus on a wide range of subjects that may have social, economic, political, cultural, technological, and medical implications. These include Network Science, Quantum Entanglement Science and Technology (QUEST), Applied Cryptography and Cybersecurity, Energy and Sustainability, Smart Cities, and Jewish and Democratic Law, among others.
The university frequently hosts visitors from other academic institutions and companies around the world and introduces them to the professors and heads of departments involved in these impact centers. Visits of this nature introduce academics and business leaders to everything the university has to offer, while simultaneously creating connections that can turn into partnerships over time.
Two of the most recent visits include the American Jewish Committee (AJC) academic mission and a delegation of CEOs, MDs, and founders from the UK’s Global Business Innovation Program (GBIP).
