Bar-Ilan University Advances in Shanghai Ranking
Bar-Ilan University has risen in the ranking of world universities, according to the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities for 2022. Over the past year, Bar-Ilan has advanced to the 301-400 range—up from the 401–500 range in 2021. The university is consistently ranked in the top 2% of all universities globally and is one of the top-ranked universities in Israel. Read More.
Physicist Claims to Have Solved the Mystery of Consciousness
According to the theory, all that’s needed to solve the hard problem of consciousness is to change our assumptions about it. When we realize that consciousness is a physical, relativistic phenomenon, the mystery of consciousness naturally dissolves. Using Tiny Diamonds, Israeli Scientists Develop New Method of Noninvasive Treatments
A team of Israeli researchers from Bar-Ilan University has developed a new method for noninvasive treatments administered through the skin – using tiny diamonds… Combining techniques in nanotechnology and optics, the team produced tiny (nanometric) diamond particles so small that they are capable of penetrating skin to deliver medicinal and cosmetic remedies. 4,000-Year-Old Israelite Settlement Discovered in Binyamin
An archeological dig at Tel Tibnah in the Binyamin region has led to the exposure of a 4,000-year-old settlement, dated to the time when the Israelites entered the Land of Israel. At the end of a month of excavations at Tel Tibnah on behalf of the Benyamin Regional Council and the Bar Ilan University, many finds were also uncovered from an ancient city that served as the capital of the district at the end of the Second Temple period. After a two-year process, Bar-Ilan University researchers completed the development of a machine that utilizes tap water to produce safe and environmentally-friendly disinfectants that can eliminate bacteria and kill viruses. Read More.

Bar-Ilan University’s Azrieli Faculty of Medicine hosted a workshop titled, “Post-Genome analysis for musculoskeletal biology,” at the end of July 2022. Clearmind Medicine Reports Positive Preclinical Data for Cocaine Addiction Treatment
Clearmind Medicine recently announced additional positive preclinical data related to its psychedelic molecule, MEAI, for treating cocaine addiction. Professor Gal Yadid and a group of researchers from the Gonda Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center at Bar Ilan University performed the study based on the self-administration paradigm, which is an operant-conditioning-based model for investigating drug addiction.
