In a significant step towards fostering stronger ties, the new Ambassador of Taiwan to Israel, Abby Lee, paid a visit to Bar-Ilan University. The visit aimed to deepen the relationship between Taiwan and Israel and explore opportunities for collaboration in various fields.
During the visit, Ambassador Abby Lee was accompanied by members of the Embassy of Taiwan, including representatives from the Science and Technology Division and the Economic Division. The delegation had the privilege of engaging with key figures at Bar-Ilan University, including Prof. Arie Zaban, BIU’s President, and Prof. Moshe Lewenstein, the Deputy President.
Exploring Research Opportunities
One of the highlights of the visit was a research discussion on Energy and Sustainability. The Taiwanese delegation had the opportunity to exchange ideas and insights with experts from Bar-Ilan University, including Prof. Shulamit Michaeli, Prof. Doron Aurbach, Dr. Elai Rettig, and Dr. Gideon Friedmann. This discussion aimed to explore potential collaborations and advancements in the field of energy research.
Learning About Advanced Technologies
The Taiwanese delegation also had the privilege of touring the Nano Technology Institute and Advanced Materials at Bar-Ilan University. Led by Prof. Ehud Banin, the Director of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, the delegation had the chance to witness cutting-edge technologies and advancements in this field.
