The BA in Multidisciplinary Jewish Studies at Bar-Ilan University is instructed fully in English. Offered by the largest Faculty of Jewish Studies in the world, and taught by internationally recognized faculty, you will be able to customize your curricula according to your scholarly interests.  

This degree offers four main concentrations including both introductory and advanced-level coursework: Bible, Jewish History, Jewish Philosophy, and Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology. In addition, you will have access to a wide array of electives from other departments including Talmud, Hebrew and Semitic Languages, Hebrew Literature, Yiddish and Ladino, Jewish Art and Middle Eastern Studies.  

You can choose to double major and combine your BA in Multidisciplinary Jewish Studies with English Literature or Communication. Depending on your chosen path, this degree can be completed in three to four years. Additionally, an honors program named “Cramim” is available in Hebrew for candidates with exceptional academic scores. 

Graduates of this program are well prepared for successful careers in any field that demands advanced analytical and cognitive skills.

The admission requirements for this program are:  

  • High School Diploma: Required for all applicants. 
  • Israeli Bagrut score of 90 (converted) OR standardized tests: Psychometric 500 / SAT 1010 / ACT 19. 
  • Letter of Intent 
  • English proficiency (if relevant): Proved by one of the accepted exams. 

*This degree does not require Hebrew proficiency 

  • To earn a BA in Multidisciplinary Jewish Studies, students must complete a total of 46 academic credits. These are comprised of:43 Jewish Studies credits and 3 General Studies credits.   General Studies Requirement 
    Students are required to take 3 credits of general courses. These can be selected from over 6,000 courses offered across the university, provided they are unrelated to your double major and are not Judaic Studies courses. Students who possess a minimum Level 4 Hebrew proficiency are welcome to take these courses in Hebrew.
