Message from Dafi Forer-Kremer, Director of Marketing and Recruitment, International School
Deciding on where to study is a dilemma that many young people have faced throughout the ages due to the huge number of choices. Some visited all the open days on campuses on their lists, if they were able, while others would take the chance based on reputation or word of mouth – and many emails back and forth between them and the chosen university and faculty.
While COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our lives in so many ways, one thing has stood out quite dramatically – choosing a university. Nowadays, it is easy to attend open days at every university on the list as they are all online.
Whether a virtual open day on general undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degrees, an event focused on a specific degree and faculty aimed at all international students, or events focused on different countries in languages other than English, the options are endless.
Bar-Ilan University’s International School has hosted many interesting and successful online events over the past six months, and October was no exception. You can read about these events – and watch them – in this month’s newsletter, and you can find out about a few events coming up in November as well.
Another exciting addition to our online events is our new Hebrew course for beginners of all ages. This academic-year-long course starts on November 25, 2020, and finishes in June 2021. Held once a week in the evenings by Bar-Ilan University’s top Hebrew teachers, it is the ideal opportunity for anyone wanting to learn to speak the language – whether purely for interest or for international students who want to connect to Israeli students or get around Israel with ease.
Last month, our international students went through the orientation process and are now entering the first full month during which they will settle down to their studies – according to the new hybrid learning options. This video shows how Bar-Ilan University has adapted to studying in 2020 – COVID-19-style.
The International School’s Service Center is dedicated to helping students on their BIU-journey and aims to make sure the experience is enjoyed every step of the way.
In addition, we look forward to being able to help others who have not yet finalized their studies at Bar-Ilan University. The March semester for graduate and postgraduate students is around the corner, so don’t delay.
Applications open for the 2021-2022 academic year in January 2021 so feel free to browse our website and email us for information about any of the programs that interest you, and read our newsletter to find out more about what we offer.
All the best
