Bar-Ilan University’s International School made a significant impact at the South African Aliyah Expo, which was hosted by Israel Centre and the Jewish Agency for Israel in Cape Town and Johannesburg in April. Additionally, the Israel Student Authority shed light on academic studies in Israel and the support available to students. Of course, Bar-Ilan University took the opportunity to showcase itself as the fastest-growing institution in Israel, highlighting the multitude of offerings available to prospective students.
At the expo, Bar-Ilan University had a dedicated stand where interested individuals, be it students or parents, could engage in one-on-one meetings with Darryl Egnal, the representative from the International School. This allowed for personalized discussions regarding the university’s programs and offerings.
There was a remarkable turnout of individuals expressing interest in Bar-Ilan’s undergraduate and graduate programs, particularly those conducted in English. However, it was the university’s diverse new multilingual programs that drew the most attention. These innovative programs provide students with the opportunity to commence their studies in English during their first year, simultaneously engaging in an intensive Hebrew Ulpan to develop language proficiency. From the second year onward, students would then transition to studying in Hebrew, equipping themselves with the necessary language skills to thrive within Israeli society.
