Bar-Ilan’s International School hosted its first Virtual Open Day via Zoom on Sunday 3 May. The International School is responsible for all degrees taught in English – undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate.
The Open Day presentations were held in two time slots – 10:00 and 19:00 (Israel Time) – in order to accommodate all countries in all time zones. Each time slot had two sessions – one for undergraduate students and one for graduate and post-graduate students.
Prof. Moshe Lewenstein, Bar-Ilan University’s Deputy President, Ofer Dahan, the Director of the International School, and Dafi Kremer, the Marketing and Recruitment Director, welcomed students and explained the procedure.
The heads of each department then gave a brief presentation on their departments and the various degree options. At the end of the presentations, a short question-and-answer session was held before the different professors broke off into individual Zoom sessions. Participants were then able to have all their questions about their chosen degrees answered.
Although 319 people registered for the Open Day, 239 participants attended the four Zoom sessions; 120 were interested in undergraduate degrees and 119 in the graduate and post-graduate degrees.
Participants came from 41 countries including China, India, Kazakhstan, South Africa, the US, Canada, among others. The highest number came from the United States followed by China, Kazakhstan, Israel, India, Brazil, and South Africa.
We offered a 42% discount on the registration fee to anyone who participated in the Virtual Open Day and then registered for one of the degrees offered by BIU’s International School before May 18. The discount was a special for those who attended the Zoom sessions.
Anyone who was unable to attend the Virtual Open Day can still watch the recorded sessions below.
