Eden Boker, a recent Israeli exchange student in Berlin under Bar-Ilan University’s International Student Exchange program, was part of a group of students who placed third in the highly competitive “Solve for Tomorrow” competition. Boker, who recently graduated with a BA in Technology Management, spent the final semester of her degree at HWR Berlin (Berlin School of Economics and Law) in Germany. In October 2023, she will start her Master’s in Industrial Management, also at BIU. She shares her story with us.

I am thrilled and overjoyed to share a remarkable achievement from my recent student exchange experience in Berlin, where I participated in an entrepreneurship course. Our group reached a significant milestone by securing third place in a highly competitive competition. The challenge we embraced involved conceptualizing and presenting a startup idea for the “Solve for Tomorrow” competition.
The “Solve for Tomorrow” program, initiated by Samsung Germany in cooperation with Ekipa GmbH, focuses on nurturing innovative technological solutions to address pressing societal issues with the potential to bring about positive transformation. This year, a staggering 131 solutions were submitted by 362 participants from across Germany. My teammates and I, operating under the project name “Speech to Health,” successfully advanced to the final round, which took place in Frankfurt. On September 1, we proudly clinched the third-place position in this prestigious competition.

As part of this recognition, the top three winning teams, including “Speech to Health,” are now set to embark on a six-month e-learning program with Samsung and Ekipa. This program promises a wealth of valuable insights and resources geared toward establishing and further developing our startups. An article featuring our group was published in the renowned German newspaper, the “Frankfurter Allgemeine.”
BIU International School’s Student Exchange Program
I would like to seize this opportunity to share my enthusiasm and gratitude for the International School’s Student Exchange program, which made this remarkable journey possible. My student exchange experience in Berlin has been transformative in every aspect, and it would not have been achievable without the support and opportunities provided by this invaluable program.
Throughout my time abroad, I had the privilege of immersing myself in a vibrant international community, gaining insights into diverse cultures, and forging lifelong friendships. The entrepreneurship course and the “Solve for Tomorrow” competition not only enriched my academic knowledge, but also equipped me with practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a profound understanding of the impact of technology in addressing global challenges.
This exchange program has genuinely broadened my horizons and allowed me to represent our university on an international stage. I eagerly anticipate sharing more about my experiences and the knowledge I’ve gained with fellow students and faculty members, further strengthening the bonds between our institution and our educational partners worldwide.
Thank you once again for making this extraordinary journey possible through the BIU International School’s Student Exchange program.
