Bar-Ilan University’s International School and the Department of Hebrew and Semitic Languages are launching “Hebrew Ulpan Online” – a Hebrew language course for beginners via Zoom – starting on November 25, 2020 and running until June 2021.
The Hebrew Ulpan Online is open to anyone who wishes to learn Hebrew, young or old. This basic Hebrew course will focus on oral and written expression in contemporary Hebrew.
Ulpan is a Hebrew word meaning “studio” or “instruction”.
“We are pleased to be able to host Bar-Ilan’s first online Hebrew course for beginners from all over the world,” said Ofer Dahan, Executive Director of Bar-Ilan University’s International School.
“Our collaboration with the Hebrew and Semitic Languages Department means our Hebrew Ulpan students will experience top-quality classes from Bar-Ilan University lecturers who have years of experience teaching Hebrew and extensive knowledge of teaching online,” he said.
Graduates of the Hebrew Ulpan Online course will receive an “Ulpan A” (Course A) graduation certificate from Bar-Ilan University’s Department of Hebrew and Semitic Languages.
Graduates will also be offered the option of a semester or summer in Israel during which they’ll be able to study other programs, including the Level B Hebrew Course, at a special tuition rate through Bar-Ilan University’s International School.
