Opening a new Bank account at Mizrahi-Tefahot Bank
Welcome to Bar Ilan University.
As you will be living here for your term of studies you might need to have a local bank account to help you with different payments, for instance: use of transferring money, withdrawing money or receiving payments.
We are fortunate to have a bank branch on the university campus and another one across the street.
Both banks also provides ATM services.
Please see some documents and instructions in order to help you in opening your bank account at the Bank in the campus.
Attached are the forms required to open an account. Please read these forms carefully, fill in the required details, attach requested documents and go to the Mizrahi-Tefahot Bank branch on campus during business hours.

Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday – 8:30-14:00
Monday and Wednesday – 8:30-13:30, 15:30-17:00

The Bar-Ilan branch (414) of Mizrahi-Tefahot Bank, conveniently located on-campus near Gate 2, offers efficient, warm and professional assistance in opening accounts for foreign residents.
In addition, the bank of course provides all banking services for all its clients.
There is also an ATM machine conveniently located in the center of campus, in building 604.
What should you bring with you when opening a new Bank account?
- A valid Passport
- Another government ID (driver’s licence, State ID)
- Certificate of Study / Proof of tuition payment, including name, scholarship amount, and department
- Fill out US Bank forms (WP for US citizens)
- Name of parents
- Israeli phone number + another number of a friend or relative
