Shimon Hirsch, a Bar-Ilan University Master’s in Archaeology student, was one of the guides in the group. He guided the students over three days on tours of Tel Aviv and Jaffa, Masada and the Dead Sea, and Jerusalem, with a focus on the archaeology of the various areas.
“I really enjoyed meeting such a curious and engaging group, They were genuinely interested in learning about Israel first-hand from fellow students.
“I don’t usually find myself trying to explain my research to people, who not only aren’t from my field, but also aren’t even from the country. Finding a bridge over the cultural gap was a very fun challenge and a skill I’ll continue to develop in the future,” he said.
